These nice varieties of kilims are very popular. In Afghanistan, in the Maymanah province, nomads and villagers make and weave by hand. This type of kilim is denser and more compact than other kilim. They use a special technique in weaving, making them thinner but also faster than traditional oriental rugs. After preparation, they were washed four times and dried in the sun. Their pattern is a traditional, warm antique pattern, but can often be more modern. They are very popular, mainly because they fit perfectly into most homes. It is used to decorate a home, both on walls and on the floor.
We hope you enjoy your hand-woven rugs purchased from us and enjoy using them.
