One of the most popular rugs in Afghanistan is Khal Mohammadi, Khal Mohammadi is made by hand by Turkmen in northern Afghanistan and in some cases by Turkmen who have crossed the border into Pakistan. The primary colors are dark red with different shades. The motifs that appear are gel (elephant-like patterned) and octagonal (octagonal), often curved, with dark blue, ocher, and beige flowers.
These types of rugs are made in the northern part of Afghanistan, in an area inhabited by nomads and villagers. Unique
they lend an atmosphere to our home with their diverse world of motifs and colors. Khal Mohammad is the name of an Afghan gentleman. He discovered the color of the Khalmohamed rug type, so it is named after him. These rugs are washed four times after making and cutting and dried in the sun, and they are also color-fast.
